The New Look of Luxury: Interview by Beauty Heroes

We were thrilled to be invited by the clean beauty online store Beauty Heroes to chat about the new look of luxury, conscious consumerism, and to share our favorite Spring wardrobe transition pieces (which happen to be vegan!). Click below to read the full interview.

Guest Blog Post: Ceri and Natalie of Eat Sleep Organic

Hello beautiful friends!  We are Natalie and Ceri from Eat Sleep Organic. We run a conscious lifestyle website where we share our love for organic, vegan and sustainable living. Our mission is to share our journey and inspire others to be more mindful about their every day choices from nutrition and beauty to their wardrobe and travel. We are honoured to be guest blogging for our friends at Filbert.  We are so inspired by companies like Filbert who are pushing the boundaries of vegan cruelty-free fashion to create luxury items.  There is no need to be shopping for leather and other animal derived fabric these days when there are so many amazing companies out there using cruelty free innovative materials!

Today we would love to share our favourite female run companies and how easy it is to source clothing and accessories that are both sustainable and vegan. Our recent trip to our local independent indie film house Cinema and Co in our home city Swansea, South Wales was too good not to be shared.  Run by another beautiful business woman Anna and home to local art, cinema and music.  The space is so cute and we couldn't resist visiting to watch their showing of "Elf", one of our favourite festive comedies!  With vegan lattes in hand (and peppermint flavoured dandies that we just happened to be carrying in our new bags).

It was the perfect opportunity to show off our new Filbert bags and Neckerchiefs, and of course pair them with a wardrobe from female-run sustainable companies P.i.C Style and People Tree.

Ceri is wearing her favourite De Beau cami by P.i.C made from 100% organic bamboo silk. P.i.C stands for "Partners in Crime" and is run by our friend Rhoda out of her love for organic and sustainable design. Based in London using locally sourced fabric Pi.C style have an incredible capsule collection, with clean versatile tailoring perfect to wear on a night out or dress down to go to the cinema. Pairing her cami with thrifted vintage jeans, thrifted vegan heels and red tartan Neckerchief from Filbert, this outfit feels sexy and comfortable. The Belden wristlet in Eggplant canvas with rose velvet ribbon is the icing on the cake.

Natalie's organic cotton dress is by People Tree.  Founded by Safia Miney with a desire to protect the environment and support producers in the developing world, People Tree have been pioneers in fair trade fashion for the past 26 years.  The dress is perfect for pairing with any of Filbert's neckerchiefs so it was pretty hard to choose one!  The Midnight check neckerchief looked chic with Melissa booties, made from recycled plastic.

We have to say Filbert's new vegan suede Stanyan bag is so soft and luxurious you wouldn't believe that it's not real suede!  Pre order one of those babies now (it's so close to Christmas you deserve to treat yourself for the New Year).

If some of these UK based brands we've shared are new to you, we highly recommend checking them out and of course investing in a stunning, staple Filbert bag is a must too! If you'd like to hear and read more about what we get up to at Eat Sleep Organic or would like to get in touch then you can find us over on Instagram and through our website! We'd love to hear from you and grow this special vegan, fashionable community!

5 Things With Brand Ambassador Skylar Stetten

We were thrilled when Skylar Stetten of Pura Soul Photography decided to take her Baker bag in Chestnut vegan leather on her recent trip to Peru! Skylar and her boyfriend Devin are an incredibly dynamic photography team, traveling the world on purpose-driven adventures.
(And they came back with photos of adorable Llamas!)
Tell us about your company you share with your boyfriend Devin, Pura Soul Photography
Pura Soul is a photography company dedicated to making a positive impact in the world. We work with purpose-driven people and organizations to tell their stories. We shoot travel, weddings, lifestyle and charity all around the globe. Together, we've traveled to 60 countries and worked with numerous NGOs. Our wedding and lifestyle business help to fund our service trips abroad.
We love the photos from your recent trip to Peru!
I spent 7 weeks in Peru doing photography and managing service programs for youth. We spent majority of our time in the Sacred Valley of Cusco working with local non-profits and schools. In addition to photography, we worked with Go Beyond Student Travel to manage service programs for teens from across the globe. The teens volunteered 200 hours over 6 weeks and worked with three local non-profits in Peru: Casa Mantay, a home for adolescent mothers who were victims of abuse and neglect; St. Teresa, a home for mentally and physically disabled people, and My Small Help, an organization helping underprivileged people and schools in the sacred valley.
My favorite photographs are from a time we traveled to a small community that was so remote it doesn't exist on Google maps! Their textiles and clothing were all made by hand from local resources and natural dyes. Truly a spectacular summer abroad!
Not So Guilty pleasure?
Green juice and fresh flowers.
 Recent recommended book.
Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, my first time reading this classic.
Time spent daydreaming about the British countryside and a good love story is healthy!
What’s in your Baker bag?
My Nikon FE film camera, 35mm film, my Moleskine & Faber Castell pen, passport, Swell water bottle, homemade essential oil roller ball for under my eyes, small cosmetic pouch full of various lip sticks, gloss and liner, a few packets of tea, a Theodora & Callum scarf, nail file, sunglasses, Lara Bar!
